Ducati 1299 Superleggera. Lots of fancy tech and go-fast bits, and only 500 are being made so chances are you won’t find one. Strangely enough I came across this on my FB from Autotrader Canada’s page.

They were originally designed for farmers in developing countries. You may not be too far off mark.

The problem with Ducati superbikes is that they are also status symbols. The reason they cost more than every other comparable bike isn’t that they are that much better, but that they show others that you can afford it.

Yes, this one in particular will be amazing to ride, and dangerously fast. It will probably be better in some ways than the competition, and worse in others. However, the only people that will actually buy one are those that want to show off more than anything. You’ll see one here or there at a track day or club race, and it definitely won’t be the fastest bike or rider there. The majority of them will be ridden around to coffee places where the riders can show off to all of the plebeians that can’t afford one.

True, BMWs are generally well accessorized, but more of them actually get ridden. Plus they all have heated handlebars to nobody riding them has cold hands.
